Sales Policies
We reserve the right to retain any goat kid.
We maintain a waiting list for our goat kids. Customers are contacted when goat kids are born in the order in which they were placed on the list and offered right of first refusal in that same order.
Goat kids are sold on a first come, first monetary deposit basis. A deposit of 50% of the purchase price will hold the animal until pick up date. Deposits are non-refundable unless purchase is terminated or not able to be fulfilled on our end for any reason.
Deposits are the only way to guarantee a hold on a goat for a purchaser.
Payments
-Cash or electronic payment method only. If electronic payment (Paypal/Zelle/Venmo) is your preferred choice of payment for deposit
YOU MUST ADD 2.9% PLUS $0.30 TO THE AMOUNT YOU ARE SENDING
as a convenience fee. If you do not add this, it will need to be paid with the final payment before the goat leaves our farm.
We offer two scenarios to buyers: 1.) You may either pick up at two weeks old and continue to bottle feed until weaning, OR 2.) We will dam raise the kids for you for an additional $50 fee per month. This ensures the absolute best for the offspring. It allows them to be socialized by us humans, but also develop herd socialization skills and learn normal goat behaviors. It also allows them to build immunity.
If you would like a bottle baby, full purchase price must be paid within 12 hours of birth. We will do our best to get your purchased kid on a bottle however this is not always possible. If successful, We require the kid to remain on our property and able to receive the mother’s milk for a minimum of 2 weeks before eligible to leave. We reserve the right to dam raise any of our sold goat kids for at least 8 weeks. We will let the buyer know what date the goat of their choosing will be available to pick up. All transport arrangements are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Goats left with our farm over 5 days beyond the pick up date given at the time of deposit/purchase may incur additional boarding charges up to $4.00 per day which will be added to the final purchase price OR the goat may be put back up for sale and the deposit made by the buyer WILL NOT be refunded.
Our goat kids are disbudded. If you want horns intact, you must make arrangements to pay the non-refundable full purchase price up front.
All goat kids will receive their first series of medications including de-worming, coccidia prevention every 3 weeks and CD&T at 3 weeks & 6 weeks.
Adult goat purchases- We do occasionally have adults available for purchase as well and these policies apply
We reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone for any reason at any time.
If purchasing a Pregnant Doe, 2 scenarios I offer are as follows:
- (1.) If the doe is being sold CONFIRMED BRED (via blood test) she must be picked up no less than 6 weeks out from projected due date. If she is not picked up before that time,
I will retain the doe until kidding, at which point you must pick up directly after (if babies are pulled for bottle raising) OR you may purchase the Doe with any available babies (applies for dam raised & bottle raised) and will be priced accordingly.
- (2.) If the doe is being sold as “Exposed” with no confirmation of pregnancy, the doe will be priced accordingly (typically less $) and if in the event she kids and the purchaser would like to register the babies, I will sell a service memo for an additional fee as agreed upon before the sale is final and the doe leaves my property.
Testing
- Our entire herd is tested yearly and we are negative for CAE, CL, Johnes, Brucellosis and TB. If you would like your goats tested before you pick them up we are happy to do so. Buyer is responsible for all costs associated with testing requested. Buyer must pay for the testing before it will be done.
Health certificates are available at the expense of the buyer.
Guarantees
- We guarantee our goats are healthy at the time of deposit/purchase and when they leave our farm. Udderly Darling & Amnesty Acre will not be held responsible for any stress or illness of any kind after the animal leaves our farm. We will not be responsible for any loss or death that may occur once the goat has left our property. Once a goat leaves our care it is solely the purchasers responsibility and can not be returned for bio-security reasons.
Because we consider biosecurity to be of the utmost importance we may not choose to have goats re-enter our herd after leaving BUT we DO EXPECT(and consider it a common courtesy / obligation) for the purchaser to always give us right of refusal on any animal they have purchased from us in the past and find they need to rehome.
Because we cannot warrant the health status of a goat after it leaves our farm due to unknown conditions and practices at their new homes, we cannot guarantee that goats will be under the Nigerian Dwarf height maximum nor can we guarantee anything that pertains to the successful future showing, milking, breeding, settling, or kidding of goats from our farm.
We do not guarantee that any animal will have a good temperament, though we try to give an honest representation of their temperaments to buyers. We tame our kids and train them to have good manners with humans. Goats, however, have minds of their own sometimes, accidents can happen, and we have no control over how animals are treated and handled after they leave our farm. Therefore, we are not responsible for any human, animal, or property injuries that are caused directly or indirectly by goats purchased from us.
